Made tenons out of 1/16" thick brass scraps I had in the shop. Cut
the strips 12/32" wide X 24/32".

After annealing the brass, I folded them in half. I measured down 6/32"
down from the folded end and made mark across the brass. Inserted the
folded end into the vise to the line. Then used a flat-bladed screwdriver to
fold the halves apart and then hammered them down. This gave me the basic
shape of the tenon. Then I pried open the tenons and applied solder and
when the solder melted,
I clamped the vise shut and squeezed them shut. This process made some
very strong tenons for the rifle.
Using my safe triangular file, I filed the bevels on the ends of the tenons.
You can see the bevels on the far left tenon.
I decided to make four tenons for the length of the 42" barrel.
Here is a photo of the installed tenon on the barrel and the hole was drilled
for the 3/32" pin used to hold the barrel to the stock. Note, once
the tenon is drilled, I round out the tenon so I do not catch the sharp edges on
my fingers later when I clean the barrel after shooting.
