Drill & Tap The Tang Bolt:

I used a #29 bit for the initial drilling. I bored a shallow hole in the trigger plate ahead of the trigger slot. Then I used my tang bolt jig and set the pistol trigger plate on to the jig. I center punched the top hole location on the tang. This spot is perpendicular to the trigger plate so the bolt intersects the trigger plate at a 90 degree angle. Then I removed the trigger plate and redrilled the hole with a 3/16" drill bit to make a clearance hole for the tap.

The trigger plate was reinstalled and was tapped. The bolt passes thru the plate and needs to be trimmed similar to the lock plate bolt.  Notice the size of the tang bolt head was a little big.

I put the bolt in my drill and using a file, I reduced the width of the bolt head. Then I filed a taper on the head to match the original head shape. Now the bolt head is in proportion to the width of the tang.

Now to reduce the height of the sides so the lock plate will be fully exposed to the surface. Then the other side will be shaved down to match.
