Here's sneak peek at a little carving I'm doing with the rifle.

Well, I dove in and here are the results of the rear stock carvings. I wanted something simple like since there is not a lot of fancy Rocco scrolls all over this rifle.  For this I used an "S" and a "C" scroll with a few leaves in the center.

By drawing a wiggly line out to the edges, I could then relief  the background in this area along the buttplate. This allowed the leaves to stand out and accent the curves of the scrolls.  What do you think? Do you like it?  Remember, now I'm not a fancy carving, which I hope to be some day.  Still have to even out the cuts and the lines yet.
